What Every Professional Sports Bettor Knows
Sports betting is a lot of fun. A lot of people actually make a living doing it.
That lifestyle is not for everyone. No matter how good you are, you can still lose. That is one thing every professional knows.
Another thing we all know is that there is no sure bet. So we don't bother looking for them. Instead, we look for an edge that gives us a long term advantage.
The real advantage doesn't sound nearly as exciting as 97%. It is much closer to 55%. I did achieve almost 70% over the course of an NFL season using a system from Week 4 through 12. But that is certainly the exception and not the rule. I am quite happy with 60% it produces consistently
If you want to make money as a sports betting professional, you do not need a sure bet. You need a game picking system that will give you a small edge you can exploit undetected by the books.
You can swing the odds in your favor if you only bet on motivated underdogs playing at home. With a simple system to locate those situations you can save hours of time wasted on looking through stats.
But you can also add any other item to the system as well. For instance, with baseball you can narrow it down to indoor or outdoor games, night games or day games, etc.
An example of a system could be home underdogs playing a team with a record of less than 5% better, when the home team plays outdoors and the visiting team plays indoors for home games.
Your system could be almost anything you feel that will give one team an advantage over the other one. But it must be put into a system.
The only way you can tell if a system works is to have one in the first place. If you do not pick your games exactly the same way every time you can't figure out if there is an advantage. You may as well just flip a coin.
Sports betting can be complicated if you make it that way. But it can also be as simple as you want it to be.
